Our Program:
The Next Step Living experience has been created to provide quality care and to take advantage of an environment that, by its very nature, contributes to the healthy recovery of the substance dependent person. We, at Next Step Living, believe that an addict, any addict, can stop the use of alcohol and other drugs and lose the desire to do so, provided they are willing to persevere and take direction from someone who has been there and found recovery from addiction.
All members of the therapeutic staff at Next Step Living have been in recovery for multiple years and many are trained as Certified Addiction Professionals in the State of Florida.
We have found that involving the family in the client's recovery process aids immensely in establishing a successful and lasting recovery program. To help address and understand the family dynamics of addiction, each family member is given the opportunity to attend and participate in family group sessions and lectures either on-site or via conference call. To find and build local support structure, family members are encourage to seek out and become involve in proven self-help fellowships like Al-Anon and Naranon.
Unlike the traditional sober house model, which offers no therapeutic process, Next Step Living engages residents in discussions and activities leading toward the attainment of the goals established for successfully educating and fostering practical working knowledge of our residents in the following areas:
- Chemical Dependency and Recovery
- Relapse Prevention
- 12 Step Fellowships
- Sponsorship
- Relationships and Communication
- Family Dynamics
- The Anger and Grief Process
- Assertiveness and Codependency
